Wave Drops
Why this drill
Two players drilling drops in alternating waves, one feeder serving them both: nobody stands in line, the feeder trains put-away judgment, and the droppers get twice the reps of a standard pairs rotation.
Setup
Feeder at the non-volley-zone line with a big supply of balls. Two hitters at the opposite baseline, one behind each service court.
The drill
The feeder alternates feeds — left hitter, right hitter — and each hitter drops, advances behind their good drops, resets from where the next feed finds them, and keeps waving forward until they reach the line, then peels back to the baseline while the other advances. The feeder attacks any drop that sits up — that put-away is their rep. Three minutes per feeder, rotate through everyone twice. The rhythm matters: continuous, overlapping waves, no queue standing still.
